Happy New Year!

So if you know Colin and I at all, the picture of us on New Years Eve this year looks VERY different from pictures of New Years Eve last year.  It's a different kind of fun now.  :)

So we went to Mi Cocina for a much deserved margarita - they're just as good as I remember

Whatchoo doin' lady?

This year my resolution is to be really really ridiculously good looking

BABY AIDAN IS HERE!

I haven't had much time the past 10 days to post anything, and I will post (in semi detail at least) Aidan's birth story soon, but I wanted to get a post in with some pictures of Aidan Jessie McCartney.

Here are her stats:
December 20th, 2011
5:26pm
6 pounds 1 oz
19 inches

And here are some pictures (these are all iphone pictures)

Aidan's nurse (LaJunta) made this hat for her

Look at the Colin cheeks on this girl!!

Santa came to visit Aidan when she was only 4 days old...she's a really good girl

Please bring me presents, please bring me presents, please bring me presents

Aidan got a book for Christmas!

Here we are at about 2 am, we're both really sleepy

After a day of shopping at Northpark.  It's a rough life...

Waiting waiting waiting

Well, we've got a brick, but we don't have a baby...yet.

Colin guessed Aidan would arrive last Tuesday.  Wrong.  I guessed last Friday.  Wrong.

We go into see our Dr tomorrow afternoon, and she'll decide when she's going to induce me since baby Aidan is still measuring small.  It will be either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday of next week (hopefully) so we should be back at home for Christmas!!  What an awesome present.

So, instead of a baby this week, we got a brick.  We actually signed up for one of these awhile ago, but this week White Rock Lake dedicated a new part of the lake.

So now, we own White Rock Lake.  That's right.  We own it.  I know, it's beautiful.  You're welcome.

It was Colin's idea to put "On Every Street."  My vote was "Team Hairy Knuckles."  He's more of a romantic than I am...and he's classier.

Gotta go.  I'm hungry.

Being a parent

Here are my top 10 fears of becoming a parent:

10.  That Colin will dress Aidan in a Rush onesie (I'm doomed on this one)

9.  That I'll be overcome with a love of smocking (which I'm not a huge fan of at this point)

8.  That I will accidentally pour my breast milk into Colin's (cough cough) I mean MY coffee

7.  That Beyonce will have her baby on the same day Aidan is born.  I can't compete with that.

6.  That we will lock Aidan in the car outside of Snuffer's on accident (this would have happened last month if she was born...)

5.  That somehow my dance moves will all of a sudden be "mom" moves

4.  That I will start to like Michael Buble

3.  That the inseam on my jeans will increase by 3 inches...and so will my ass

2.  That after watching countless hours of Toddlers and Tiaras I will attempt to make Aidan go "full glitz"

9 months fat - I mean pregnant

Well, this week marks 9 months of pregnancy, and it makes me really happy to know that there aren't many more days we'll have to spend without Aidan.  Most of the time Aidan likes to gut punch and kick me which makes me cringe because every time she does I can see the "my kid is going to be a soccer player" twinkle in Colin's eye.  Ug, I really hate soccer.  Maybe she's just practicing her high kicks for a life of a dancer or gymnast.

We've spent the past few weeks (not blogging) but getting ready for Christmas.  I move at about the pace of a snail these days so what normally would take me a couple of hours, takes me a couple of days.  Alright, maybe it's not that bad.

Here are a few pictures from the past few weeks.

Sleepy

I could sleep for 10 hours a night at this point.  Ok, sometimes I do sleep 10 hours a night at this point.  And I love every second of it.

It's getting colder out there, and all I want to do is this
(Toby)

Or this
(Maize and Maggie)

Maggie will never go anywhere without this pumpkin toy she's had for 2 years

Phreddy is always down for a nap if I want one

And just for good measure - Maize and Toby
Grumpy Old Men

Ok, I thought I'd try to throw in at least one more dog post before Aidan gets here because I'm sure it's going to be all about her at that point.

On another note, I locked our keys in the car last night leaving Snuffer's on Greenville which I thought was impossible when you have a "smart key."  No worries though because Gerard came to the rescue, and Colin and I were full from the loaded cheese fries we had just ate so it wasn't that big of a deal.  Moral of the story - when you have soup at home to make, go ahead and make it instead of being really horrible and eating CHEESE FRIES for dinner.

Karma,

Babyland - Aidan's room

Finally!!  I know I know.

The last picture is hung, and now I can say that Aidan's room is complete.  All I'm waiting for is a toy box that's going to go under the window, but who knows when that's going to be ready so I'll go ahead and post some pictures.

Colin and I are really happy with how her room turned out.  It's peaceful and soft...exactly how we wanted it to be.  And now, all we need is a baby.

Here goes - hope you like it!
